Listen more deeply to yourself, through sound
Our minds stay busy — tracking, planning, holding the noise of the day — until it’s hard to feel how we actually are underneath it. A sound meditation is a way back: you lie down, put your headphones on, and let the sound take the lead. Nothing to change, nothing to reach for — just listening. You can do it anywhere you want to take a deeper moment for yourself. At home or away. Finding your own space and closing your eyes. The same depth meets you where you are.
As you settle into stillness, instruments, vibration and silence give your mind one steady thing to rest on, and your inner world comes closer — colours, images, feelings and memories may surface, each one to turn toward gently. You’ll receive what’s meant for you in that time and space. There’s early evidence that states like this calm the nervous system and help the mind reorganise itself, part of why people often come out clearer than they went in.
A session lasts about 1 hour 20 minutes. Give yourself a few quiet moments to arrive and set your intention, then settle in:
You’ll want a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed for the full session, a soft mat and pillow, noise-cancelling headphones, an eye mask, and a blanket if you get cold.
No two sessions land the same way, and because you can return whenever you need to, more surfaces over time. A few things that tend to come up:
An intention is simply where you’d like to go a little deeper today — writing it down or saying it aloud makes it real. Trust the first thing that comes to mind; it’s usually the one worth exploring.
Remember there is nothing to get right. The sound will hold whatever you bring — you only have to listen.
Listen more deeply to yourself, through sound
As you come out, return slowly — a glass of water, a few deep breaths, a little longer in the stillness. There’s nowhere you need to be, so let this part be as unhurried as it wants.
When you’re ready, journal with pen and paper — putting the experience into words is where integration begins. Keep it with you over the coming days: what surfaces tends to keep unfolding, in a passing thought, a dream, an ordinary moment that suddenly makes sense. Return to your intention, notice what echoes, and take one small step to honour it — insight fades quickly, a single action makes it real.
A single session is a fine place to start, and it doesn’t have to be the end of it. If you’d like to go further into sound meditation, sit for a session in person, explore working together, or simply connect, I’d love to hear from you.
